Existing building review
Utility consumption, systems, envelope conditions and practical retrofit opportunities.
Enerways supports building owners, managers, developers and design teams with retrofit strategy, incentive navigation, energy modelling and project documentation.
Part 3 work can involve more than selecting efficient equipment. The project may need a baseline, savings calculations, utility analysis, incentive pre-approval, energy modelling, compliance forms or coordination across the envelope and mechanical design.
Enerways helps define the correct scope and assemble the technical path around the project’s actual objective.

Match proposed measures to current Save on Energy streams before procurement or installation.
Baseline and proposed performance models for compliance, financing and design decisions.
Calculation packages, supporting reports, design inputs and coordination through review.
Provides incentives for projects that deliver measurable electricity savings. The Prescriptive stream offers set incentives for listed measures; the Custom stream calculates incentives from verified kWh or peak-kW reductions. Current program incentives are capped at 50% of eligible project costs.
View official program detailsA three-year pay-for-performance option for eligible commercial, institutional and industrial facilities. Participants combine operational, behavioural and capital measures and commit to at least 5% electricity savings per facility within two years.
View official program detailsSupports eligible commercial and institutional buildings in commissioning existing systems. Incentives can support the investigation, implementation of identified measures and verified persistence of electricity savings.
View official program detailsOffers eligible Ontario facilities pathways that can include energy-manager support, strategic energy management, training and energy-management information systems. Eligibility and available paths depend on facility type and energy-use thresholds.
View official program detailsMany Save on Energy applications require pre-project approval. Starting procurement or installation too early can affect eligibility. Program thresholds, eligible costs and rates should be confirmed for each project.
Better insured-financing terms tied to measurable housing outcomes.
MLI Select is a CMHC mortgage-loan-insurance product — not a direct CMHC grant or cash loan. It uses a point system based on affordability, accessibility and climate compatibility. Eligible new and existing multi-unit rental projects can access insurance flexibilities such as reduced premiums and longer amortization periods through an approved lender.
Energy-efficiency commitments require supporting documentation, an appropriate energy simulation and attestation by a qualified professional. The general project minimum is five residential units, with separate requirements for retirement homes and limits on non-residential space.
Enerways can support the energy-modelling and documentation work needed to demonstrate the proposed performance pathway, while the lender and CMHC determine financing and insurance approval.
We can develop whole-building models and reporting packages using tools such as eQUEST and OpenStudio/EnergyPlus, coordinated to the municipality, program and project requirements.
Send us the building type, location, utility information and project stage. We can help identify the relevant technical and incentive path.
