Home Renovation Savings states that 100% of the total roof-assembly area must be insulated to qualify. The work must be completed with a participating insulation contractor, who also handles the rebate application and required documentation.
Read the official attic insulation rebate pageThe official table covers existing attic insulation levels up to R-35 and requires the completed attic to reach at least R-50. The maximum rebate depends on the insulation level before the upgrade.
Cathedral ceilings and flat roofs have separate minimum R-value targets and rebate limits. A participating contractor must assess the existing assembly and applicable program tier.
The applicant must own the home. If tenants occupy the property, the owner applies.
Single detached, semi-detached, row or townhomes excluding stacked townhomes, and mobile homes on a permanent foundation.
An active Enbridge Gas account with natural-gas primary heat, or an eligible home connected to Ontario’s electricity grid and heated by electricity, oil, propane or wood.
New homes occupied for six months or less and stacked townhouses do not qualify under the current attic pathway. Other exclusions and prior-rebate rules may apply.

Choose from the list supplied by the program, not simply any insulation contractor.
The participating contractor determines the applicable insulation level, completes the eligible installation and prepares the application.
The rebate is issued after the contractor submits the required documentation and the program approves the application.
Starting with a non-participating contractor, insulating only part of the roof assembly or failing to meet the required final R-value may affect eligibility. Enerways can help review the scope and the correct next step, but approval remains with the program administrator.
